Ageing Aircraft Programmes

EleV8 Aviation has been uniquely placed to influence and conduct RA5723 Ageing Aircraft Audits. Since the inception of the Ageing Aircraft Programmes Working Group (AAPWG), we have continually shown a presence at the working group, which sits twice a year.

Zonal Hazard Analysis

Following the loss of Nimrod XV230 in 2006, we have worked with various stakeholders, including Dstl, QinetiQ and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) in understanding the potential shortfalls of previous zonal analysis conducted on legacy platforms. This included providing advice during the Haddon-Cave Nimrod Review where we were interviewed by The Hon. Mr Justice Haddon-Cave. Since this time, as an associate of QinetiQ Boscombe Down, we have developed a best practice solution for Zonal Hazard Analysis (ZHA) which is captured within MAA guidance material (AAPWG Paper 011).
As a result of our joint efforts, ZHA is now recognised as an important technique that will validate the design for potential undesirable system interactions based on system composition within its operating environment. Consequently, since 2009 we have conducted ZHA programmes on a wide range of UK MoD aircraft.
As a member of the MAA chaired Ageing Aircraft Programmes Working Group (AAPWG), we provide frequent updates to both the regulators and the regulated communities regarding the subject of ZHA.

Physical Condition Surveys

Often conducted as part of an Ageing Aircraft Audit, an independent Physical Condition Survey (PCS) is an excellent means to measure the effectiveness of a fleets management and maintenance regimes. Identifying trends and shortfalls in maintenance policies, can lead to the application of practical mitigations and other advice to aid the sustainment of the fleet, until the planned out of service date, and in many cases beyond this date.
Since 2008, EleV8 Aviation have conducted numerous PCS in support fleet continued airworthiness strategies.

Air System Document Set Digitisation

EleV8 Aviation are delighted to support and provide technical leadership to the digital transformation of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) Air System Document Set (ADS).
The modernisation of the Topic 1 – Aircraft Maintenance Manual and the Topic 3 – Illustrated Parts Catalogue for the Spitfire Mk’s II, V, IX, XIV and XIX are the first in a series of revolutionary updates to the BBMF ADS, required to sustain this immensely import and unique fleet.

RAMS Engineering

We are experienced in all aspects of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) and are fully conversant with the integration between these supportability disciplines. Predominantly applied during civil projects (A380, Falcon 7X and C-Series), EleV8 also have experience applying RAMS techniques to military programmes.
Reliability – as ability to perform a specific function and may be given as design reliability or operational reliability.
Availability – as ability to keep a functioning state in the given environment.
Maintainability – as ability to be timely and easily maintained (including servicing, inspection and check, repair and/or modification).
Safety – as ability not to harm people, the environment, or any assets during a whole life cycle
